It was August 16, 1969, 2:00am, Bethel, New York. Creedence Clearwater Revival had finished their set 40 minutes before; when a legendary singer walked out on stage wearing a dress that would not only become the signature look of an era, but also a timeless fashion staple: tie-dye.
Double Elvis has teamed up Rit Dye, the 100-year-old brand and tie-dye pioneer, for an exclusive t-shirt and tie-dye bundle to commemorate the magic of that moment in music history, the 27 CLUB podcast (featuring the iconic artist who wore that famous tie-dye dress), and to raise awareness for mental health.
With only 27 bundles available, Double Elvis and Rit Dye remind us that while the stories of great artists can be entertaining and sometimes inspiring, they can also be cautionary tales that demonstrate the need for mental health resources, the importance of openly discussing mental health challenges, and the fact that many of our friends and family may also be struggling.
All proceeds for this bundle, along with direct donations from Double Elvis, will be given to TWLOHA, a nonprofit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and invest directly into treatment and recovery.
